Instead of having the right fertilizer, the Greg True Field in Elgin, Illinois has been accidentally doused with weed killer. The St. Edward team would most likely play against Immaculate Conception for their football home game on Friday at the artificially turfed, Elmhurst's Plunkett Park.
"The company we have for maintaining our field mistakenly put down a weed killer instead of a fertilizer and a portion of the grass on the field is dead," said athletic director P.J. White, according to the Chicago Tribune.

The game has to be relocated since the Greg True Field is no longer suited for a game.
"The safety of our athletes will be the No. 1 thing we consider when we determine whether this game or any others are moved," White added. "Right now the field is in no worse condition than many fields are later on in the season."
For the St. Edward athletic director, the incident was just a simple mix-up. "It was an honest mistake made in the mixing of chemicals for the field and [the groundskeepers] feel terrible about it," White said, according to The Bleacher Report. "Someone grabbed the wrong bottle when they were mixing chemicals."
Other schools in the area have offered their fields so the teams can finish their season, according to Yahoo Sports.
