Stephen Colbert will welcome the new "Daily Show" host Trevor Noah to "The Late Show" tonight, according to Deadline. Noah will appear on the show along with U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and musical guest Chris Stapleton. The last-minute addition of Noah is to replace actress Naomi Watts, who originally was set to appear.
Noah is preparing to launch his own version of "The Daily Show" after long-time host Jon Stewart left the Comedy Central show last month. Colbert, who is one of the most famous alumni of "The Daily Show," could offer the inexperienced South African comedian some helpful advice. Stewart serves as an executive producer on "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert."
Comedy Central is gearing up for the debut of "The Daily Show with Trevor Noah" with a series of promos that mock the young comedian's relative inexperience covering American politics. In the latest promo, Noah sits at "The Daily Show" desk along with correspondent Jordan Klepper as Klepper attempts to prepare Noah for the 2016 presidential election.
Noah is welcoming three new correspondents — Ronny Chieng, Desi Lydic and Roy Wood Jr. — to usher in the new era of "The Daily Show."
Catch Noah on "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert" tonight at 11:35 p.m. on CBS.
