Despite the fix, however, flights have yet to leave any of the affected airports.
The cause of the malfunction is still unknown.
2:22pm: American Airlines flights at a few airports in the country were grounded Thursday due to various computer problems, the Federal Aviation Administration said.
Passengers took to Twitter to voice their concerns and frustrations, with the airline tweeting responses, stating that it is having technical issues and is working to resolve them, according to the BBC.

The FAA didn't go into much detail about the incident, only saying that the ground stop was due to "airline issues" and that the stoppage would last until at least 2:30 p.m. EST, according to CNBC.
The administration first said that it was resolving the issue but didn't know how long it would take to resolve it.
Later, a FAA spokesman told Reuters that all domestic flights departing from Dallas-Fort Worth, Chicago O'Hare and Miami had been halted.
Computers at O'Hare reportedly started to come back online later, but it's still unclear when flights would resume.
