Amazon is on a roll, releasing brand new products and updating existing ones in the hopes of competing with recent upgrades at Apple. On Thursday, Amazon released the OS 5 "Bellini," an upgrade in their Amazon Fire product line. The also launched a new Fire TV, a Fire TV Stick and other tablet models, according to CNBC.
The new version of the Fire tablet will cost less than the current tablet on the market, retailing for $49.99. The company also released a new Fire Kids Edition that will include a year of Amazon FreeTime Unlimited for only $99.99, according to CNBC.
The new Fire TV, Amazon claims, is 75 percent faster than the Apple version. They say it will be more reliable, allowing more customers to stream high-quality videos when connected to poor Wi-Fi, according to The Guardian. It will also be able to handle 4K content like older versions, whicle the recently debuted Apple TV can't.
To continue adding to the list of new Amazon products, the company also released new video game gear including controllers with headphones and voice search support, according to The Guardian.
With all of these products, consumers will be able to stream Amazon movies right on their devices. They will have access to new features such as Amazon Underground and Bellini, and will have 4K capabilities unlike any other product currently on the market, according to the Independent.
These latest announcements are both impressive and cost effective, putting Amazon at the top of the game-and forcing companies like Apple to play catch up.
