Amy Poehler is teaming up with NBC once again for a new comedy that will hopefully bring us just as any laughs as her hit show "Parks and Recreation."
On Thursday, the network announced that a pilot production commitment for "Dumb Prince" had been made, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The show will be written by Charlie Grandy, who writes "The Mindy Project" and also worked on "The Office." Poehler and Grandy will executive produce the show with help from Brooke Posch of Poehler's own Paper Kite Productions and Dave Becky of 3 Arts.
Grandy and Poehler have worked together in the past on "Saturday Night Live." When Poehler was one of the main "Weekend Update" anchors, the two helped write and produce it alongside the other anchors.
"Dumb Prince" is a half-hour family comedy about a Prince's attempt to run the family business his own way, which only causes "chaos" within his "highly publicized and dysfunctional family."
Poehler, 44, will not be starring in "Dumb Prince," but she does have some other projects in the work, according to Entertainment Weekly. She co-stars with BFF Tina Fey in "Sisters," which hit theaters December 18, and is currently working on the early production stages of "The House" with other "SNL" alum Will Ferrell and the basketball comedy "Balls."
