Netflix won the worldwide exclusive rights for the hit ABC show "How to Get Away with Murder," the streaming website announced Friday, according to Variety.
Netflix acquired the rights almost exactly a week before the second season premiered.
The deal was fully global and Netflix customers in the United States, Latin America and Canada are able to stream the entire 15-episode first season, reported Deadline. The website said other regions across the world will be able to see the show in the coming couple of months.
"Netflix is dedicated to bringing great entertainment to our members around the world, in both current and future markets," said the company's vice president of global TV Sean Carey. "We're excited to offer global audiences season one of 'How To Get Away With Murder,' offering members a chance to discover it for the first time or relive the drama of season one before the new season's premiere."
The first season of the legal drama was produced by ABC Studios and was created by Pete Nowalk and executively produced by Nowalk and Shonda Rhimes, who created "Scandal" and "Grey's Anatomy" for ABC, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
Season one of "How to Get Away with Murder" is now available on Netflix. Season 2 of the show premieres Thursday, Sept. 24 at 10 p.m. ET on ABC.
