Three men were shot and killed at 48 Fleet Walk in the Fort Greene Ingersol housing projects located in Brooklyn, N.Y., at 3:00 a.m. on Sunday morning. The victims include Calvin Clinkscales, Lacount Simmons and Herbert Brown. Clinkscales, 43, and Simmons, 39, were shot in the head and were both pronounced dead on the scene, according to Pix 11 News. Brown, 76, suffered a gunshot to his stomach and later died after arriving at Methodist hospital.
This began when investigators say they received a call just after 1:30 a.m. according to NY1. Neighbors heard gunfire and called the police to the scene. Police investigated through the night and were still at the scene of the shooting at 8 a.m. Sunday morning. So far, there have been no arrests and the investigation is ongoing, according to NBC New York. Also as of right now, it is unclear if these incidents are related.
Some residents in this community, however, feel otherwise. A community advocate believes the shootings may have been related to an ongoing turf war, according to Brooklyn News 12.
At first the names of the deceased were not disclosed, but after their families were notified they have since been released to the public.
