Rumors have been flying for some time that iconic "Walking Dead" comic book villain Negan would be coming to the small screen at some point. Now it turns out that it's more than just wishful thinking, as The Spoiling Dead Fans report that casting is under way for the role.

Pay no attention to the name "Orin," as it's common for "The Walking Dead" to use a fake name to try and throw knowledgeable fans off the scent.
Do pay attention to the casting call, though. Previously, it was thought that Negan would show up in a post-credits scene of Episode 616 (the last episode of season six). But the ten-day filming schedule implies a bigger role and introduction for the Big Bad this year. However, "The Walking Dead" is still setting him up to be the villain of season seven. Based on last season, it appears as if The Wolves will be the primary antagonists this year.
Also take note of the specific adjectives the casting call uses. "Smart," "brilliant strategist," "practical and emotional intelligence," "killer of men," etc. This is not the Governor we're dealing with here. This is a ruthless and calculating mad man who is unlike any foe Rick Grimes has come up against in the past.
Season six of "The Walking Dead" will premiere on AMC on Sunday, October 11.
