Happy wife, happy life - isn't that right Johnny Depp! The "Pirates of the Caribbean" star has sold his beloved yacht, named after his ex-girlfriend, Vanessa Paradis, as a gesture to please his wife Amber Heard, Us Weekly reported.
Depp bought the 156-foot luxury yacht in 2007, and reportedly named his boat "Vajoliroja" after his longtime partner Paradis and their kids; Lily-Rose, 16, and Jack, 13. Deep and Paradis dated for 14 years before officially calling it quits in 2012.
"Johnny loved that yacht. But he bought it for Vanessa. And Amber is still jealous of her," a source said told Us Weekly about the couple's relationship issues. The source added that Heard refused to get on the yacht.
Us Weekly did not report how much the luxury yacht was sold for.
As previously reported by HNGN, Depp and Heard tied the knot at their Los Angeles home in February and reportedly held a bigger wedding celebration on Depp's private island in the Bahamas. Depp and Heard got engaged in 2013 after meeting on the set of the 2011 film "The Rum Diary."
In 2013, Depp opened up to Rolling Stone Magazine about his relationship with Paradis, admitting that their last couple of years together had "been a bit bumpy" and "unpleasant."
"Relationships are very difficult," Depp said. "Especially in the racket that I'm in because you're constantly away or they're away and so it's hard. It wasn't easy on her. It wasn't easy on me. It wasn't easy on the kids. The trajectory of that relationship - you play it out until it goes, one thing leads to another."
"So for whatever reason that ceases, it doesn't stop the fact that you care for that person, and they're the mother of your kids, and you'll always know each other, and you're always gonna be in each other's lives because of those kids. You might as well make the best of it," he added.
