You know how you (well some of you) didn't really like Mellie (Bellamy Young) to begin with. And then you really didn't like her when she outted Olivia as the president's mistress. Well, according to EOnline, you're not the only ones who don't like Mellie as we head into Season 3.
Last season she was America's sweetheart, everyone loved her and her approval ratings were through the roof. According to the website, this season her approval ratings are going to take a major hit. Her plan to out President Grant (Tony Goldwyn) and Olivia (Kerry Washington) apparently backfired-which is sort of weird.
You would think that Mellie would be able to play the betrayed wife and that America might feel sorry for her. Apparently that's not the case. Either America only liked her because she was with Fitz or maybe they just don't like a nark. In addition, Mellie has some problems when she's asked about it during an interview.
In addition to being one of the least liked people in America, Mellie is also going to switch roles with Olivia.
"She is no longer the fixer. She is like the client," Young said of Olivia pope in a recent interview with TVLine.com. "Mellie is the fixer in her own mind. We're looking at a reelection campaign, so I've got to handle it because we need four more years."
Young also told the website that Mellie's plan to fix is liable to blow up in her face, as her plans usually do.
Season 3 of "Scandal" premieres Thursday, Oct. 2 at 10/9c on ABC.
