It was the third episode of "The Voice" blind auditions last night, and while rumors that a romance was blossoming between fellow coaches Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani, another couple stole the spotlight last night.
Country duo Jubal Lee Young and Amanda Preslar walked out on stage and gave a beautiful rendition of "Seven Bridges Road." The Tulsa, Okla., natives got Pharrell Williams and Stefani to turn around for them, even though they had only been performing together for 18 months.
The conversation was then turned to whether or not the duo was in a romantic relationship by Shelton.
"Are you guys a couple?" Shelton asked. "Are you married?"
"Not yet," Preslar replied. "One day."
Young then got down one knee and proposed to his shocked girlfriend and revealed a diamond ring in his hand. Presler said yes before the couple chose Team Pharrell.
Williams was obviously excited about the addition to his team as he took to Twitter to tweet about the country duo's engagement.
"I got my first duo AND they get engaged in front of our eyes. How is this real life??" he wrote.
Other notable blind auditions included Manny Cabo, Lyndsey Elm and Chris Crump.
Cabo, a 45-year-old freelance photographer from New Jersey, was the most impressive audition of the night with his lively version of "Here I Go Again" by Whitesnake. Adam Levine turned around immediately followed shortly after Shelton. Cabo had incredible stage presence and managed to get all four coaches to turn around by the end of his song with a crazy impressive high-note. After a compelling argument from the coaches, Cabo chose Team Adam.
Elm, a 22-year-old, sang "Lips Are Moving" by Meghan Trainor. The young singer stripped down the song with just an acoustic guitar and let her vocals do all the work. Stefani turned first mere seconds after Elm started to sing followed quickly by Williams and Levine. Shelton held out a little bit longer before he eventually gave in and turned around for Elm as well.
During her interview with the judges, Elm revealed that she gave up her passion for basketball in order to chase her dreams of singing. After all four judges gave Elm their reasons of why she should pick them as a coach before she chose Team Gwen.
Crump said that he left his own wedding reception early to audition for "The Voice" when he heard the show was in Austin doing local auditions. He said his reasoning for auditioning for the show was because "in the South, we believe a man needs to provide for his wife."
The singer gave an intimate performance of Ed Sheeran's smash hit "Thinking Out Loud." Levine turned around first followed immediately by the other three coaches and gave Crump the third four-chair turnaround of the night. Crump also delivered one of the more surprising coaching decisions of the blind auditions when the pop artist chose Team Blake over the other three coaches that were more in his genre.
Overall it was another impressive night of auditions for a promising season 9 of the talent competition show. After the third night of blind auditions, Team Blake picked up another three artists and brought his total to an overall eight performers.
Team Adam also picked up another three artists in addition to his previous four. Team Gwen only picked up two new artists and brought her total up to eight as well. The most impressive team of the night was Team Pharrell, who nabbed another four contestants to his previous four.
"The Voice" returns again tonight for the fourth round of blind auditions on NBC.
