After serving as interim CEO for the past three months, Jack Dorsey will be named the new permanent CEO of Twitter, according to Recode.
Jack Dorsey is one of Twitter's original co-founders, as well as the CEO of Square, according to Recode. He will continue to run the latter once officially named the new Twitter CEO.
He could be given the title as soon as Thursday, according to Business Insider. And along with naming Dorsey as the permanent CEO, Twitter's board will also see some changes. Twitter's previous CEO Dick Costolo, who still sits on the board, is reportedly leaving.
Dorsey was CEO of the company once before but was fired in 2008 for not taking advantage of the position and pushing the company where it needed to go, according to Reuters. That's when Costolo took over.
Since the news was released, Twitter's shares have risen 6.8 percent, according to Reuters.
This might give the company the makeover it needs; Twitter is also introducing new features to the site and upgrading old ones.
