Chet Hanks, the son of actor Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson, posted a number of videos to his Instagram account and admitted to a serious cocaine problem. In the videos, the 25-year-old issued an apology after he made headlines over the summer for his erratic behavior.
"Hey I just want to say, I know, like, my name's been in the media about me like, going missing or getting kidnapped or something...I've been in rehab, I've been trying to get my s--- together," Hanks said in one of the videos. "I'm doing pretty damn good. I just really had to take a look at myself and my life and the way s--- was going, and all the crazy, stupid s--- I was doing and just finally admit to myself that it wasn't working."
The aspiring rapper got in a ton of trouble in June when he trashed a hotel room in London. He reportedly caused almost $2,000 in damages at the Arora International hotel. Hanks also faced widespread criticism when he said that he was able to use the N-word whenever he wanted to because of the culture of hip-hop.
"I know a lot of ya'll understood the point I was trying to make but the truth is, it's not my place to speak on that and I'm genuinely sorry for the people that I offended," he said in another Instagram video.
In the end he thanked his friends and family for their support and encouraged others struggling with addiction to message him on the social media site.
