Selena Gomez took to Twitter Thursday night to drop her new track, the dance song "Me And The Rhythm," and announce her 2016 "Revival" World Tour, Seventeen reported. The announcement comes just one week before the release of her highly anticipated third album, "Revival."
"Surprise! Preorder REVIVAL now & get one of my favs from the album #MeAndTheRhythm instantly!" Gomez said via Twitter.
She went on Instagram to make an even bigger announcement, revealing in a short video clip posted to her page that she would embark on a world tour in support of her upcoming album, "Revival."
"Guys, I have a very exciting announcement. I am launching my 'Revival World Tour.' I will be going to the U.S. and Canada from May to July and then later in the year going around cities," she said in the clip posted to her Instagram.
Her new track, "Me And The Rhythm," is a dance-y track featuring sexy, breathy vocals from the former Disney star. The beat is a darker, modern version of the throwback '70s Disco-era style dance music with lyrics that serve as an ode to dancing.
Gomez's upcoming album "Revival" is slated for an Oct. 9 release, Entertainment Weekly reported, and it will showcase a more mature side of the pop star.
"I've lived such a public life that I understand that I'm under a microscope," Gomez told Entertainment Weekly. "That has taken me into so many different phases. It's made me depressed and it's made me happy and it's made me grateful and humble-but [I've learned] it's okay to let down my walls with my music, to feel sexy and good."
