If you're a fan of online shopping but hate the long waits before your purchase reaches you, Apple has got the perfect system for you. The company has brought back the in-store pick-up option back to purchases from its store, even if it will only be in limited capacity.
According to PCMag, customers can purchase their iPhone 5S online and then go and pick it up at select locations, including New York's Grand Central, Fifth Avenue and SoHo locations.
Depending on your choice of color, size and carrier the new smartphone from Apple will be available for pick up once you order it online. You can go in yourself when its convenient or send a very trustworthy friend to do it for you.
If you're the type who wants or needs your iPhone to work for you immediately, Apple's Personal Pickup program has a Personal Setup features allows consumers to make purchases online, then visit the store to find a store employee has already set up the device and has it up and running before you leave the store with it.
Unfortunately options are currently limited. A silver 64GB iPhone 5S from Verizon, for example, is only available today from SoHo, 14th St. and Grand Central Apple stores. The same device from AT&T is listed as "unavailable for pickup." A 32GB space gray iPhone 5S from Sprint was also available from most stores in Manhattan but the same device for Verizon was not available. According to PCMag, users can visit Apple's website to see if your desired iPhone 5S is in stock anywhere near your location.
Before anyone gets too excited, the newest color for the iPhone, gold, is not in stock with any carrier. In fact there is still a waiting period for online orders.
Apple set records during the launch weekend for the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C, selling more than 9 million new iPhones in the first three days. Amidst that boom in sales, the company was forced to drop the in-store pickup option as supplies dwindled faster than anticipated.
The new low-cost iPhone 5C is still available in almost all colors at any location across any carrier.
