'Revenge' returned with some new characters, some old habits and a quick takedown. The story began, as suspected, with a look into the future as Emily took two bullets to the stomach from an unkown shooter. Here is a short character-based recap of the “Revenge” Season 3 premiere:
Emily Thorne/Amanda Clarke—Emily is up to her old tricks again and she’s ready to take down the Graysons. Her target? Conrad. After bailing Nolan out of jail she carries him back to the house she’s bought him. She lays out the plans for her attack on Conrad and explains to Nolan that he needs to hack the security system to the Governor’s office so they can execute the new plan. Nolan says he’s done hacking and will carry out Emily’s plan in another way. Emily is holding a fundraising event for the governor and they decide to execute their scheme there.
Ashley—Our beautiful Brit approaches Emily as she is visiting the shutdown stowaway. She knows that Emily is hiding something and if Ms. Thorne doesn’t help her meet some rich and powerful gentlemen at the event for the governor, she will tell the Graysons what she knows. Emily doesn’t take too well to threats and manipulates Victoria into helping her take down Ashley. They trick Ashley into coming to an airport thinking she’s going to meet Conrad. Instead sent packing on an airplane after Emily makes it look like she set up Jack to be murdered through her phone records.
Daniel—The eldest Grayson child is with the love of his life—but is now broke thanks to the love of his life. Now, he’s attempting to set a date for the wedding while looking for new business ventures. While at a bar he meets what appears to be an old flame from France named Margaux LeMarchal who now owns the American version of a magazine her father started overseas. Could she be after the former bachelor?
Victoria—Victoria has been spending large amounts of time with her son Patrick. She is very happy and is definitely showing it. However, her happiness doesn’t really translate to support for her husband. He has to pull teeth to get her to support him at events.
Charlotte—Charlotte is back from Paris and very grumpy. She is visibly upset with her mother and even goes after Patrick. She threatens Victoria’s son after finding out he’s their brother. If Victoria doesn’t make his life miserable, she will.
Nolan—Nolan is out of prison, not hacking anymore and about to make one of the biggest entrances to a party a person has ever seen.
Conrad—Conrad is the family’s lifeline right now. He’s their only source of income and he knows it. He’s even putting Grayson Manor on the market. Things are going well for him right now, or so he thinks. Nolan enters Emily’s party on a parachute and drops right in the center of the festivities. While everyone is ooing and awing he slips Emily a toxin which she puts in Conrad’s drink. During his speech, which followed the presentation of a large painting in his honor, he collapses and is rushed to the hospital. Emily hacks the doctors computer and Conrad is diagnose with Huntington disease. Apparently, it runs in the family. At first the Graysons try to keep it underwraps. However, it gets leaked to the press (something Amanda blames on Ashley). If Conrad has to step down, the Graysons have no income and lose everything.
Jack—Mr. Porter is back at the stowaway so Emily goes to visit him—and he’s not the same guy. After they talk for a bit he takes her head in his hand and tells her he understands why she lied for so long. Then they passionately kiss—and Jack says he doesn’t feel anything for her anymore but he’ll keep her secret. Later in the episode he meets her on the porch and explains he knows what she did to Conrad. Even though she tried to explain her intentions he gives her an ultimatum—finish her vendetta by the end of the summer, or he’s telling everyone her indentity.
Aiden—Aiden’s back in the Hamptons and he has an objective—to take down Emily Thorne.
