Paul McCartney: Remix Video Of Michael Jackson Duet 'Say, Say, Say' Released By Former Beatle (VIDEO)

Former Beatles band member Paul McCartney released a new remix video of his 1983 hit collaboration with Michael Jackson "Say, Say, Say" on Tuesday.

The video, launched exclusively via McCartney's Facebook page, includes a previously unreleased version of the chart-topping song, in which the King of Pop and the former Beatle switch parts. The song comes as part of a recent re-mastered version of McCartney's "Pipes of Peace" album, according to Consequence of Sound

The idea for the remix, which includes never-before-heard vocals from the two superstars, came to McCartney while he was listening to DJ John "Jellybean" Benitez's remix of "Say, Say, Say" and realized that there were vocals that were never used in the final recording.

McCartney and Chief Engineer Steve Orchard started reimagining the song, using Jackson's vocals at the start instead of McCartney's opening lyrics, adding to the track's length and then sent it over to Mark "Spent" Stent for one final remix.

The music video, directed by Sia collaborator Ryan Heffington, has been shot entirely in black-and-white and features "a young guy joyously dancing throught the streets," according to Entertainment Weekly.

The original duet came about when MJ called McCartney and asked if he'd like to write with him.

"He rang me up, and I didn't believe it was him," said McCartney on his website. "So I said, 'Who's this?' He said, 'Michael.' 'Are you sure ... Michael who?!' ... Anyway, we had a joke about that kind of thing, and he said, 'Yeah, I'd like to come over and write with you,' so I said great. So he came over to England, and we just sat down. I thought, well, it's not easy to just sit down with anyone you don't know and just write, start songwriting because you've got to get the chemistry right. But I thought, it is Michael - you know, I'll just try! If it doesn't work, we'll just throw it away ... "

The remastered edition of "Pipes of Peace" comes with the original album along with a nine-song CD that includes demos, outtakes and other bonus material.
