There's only a few days left until "Scandal" returns for Season 3. So far ABC has kept fairly quiet about what fans could expect but three short clips from the season premiere has been released and they all will leave fans anxiously waiting for the first episode.
In the first clip, Cyrus is seen trying to get some information out of his husband, James. He wants to know who outed Olivia and offers James some insider "scoop" for the details. In the second clip, Olivia lands a one-on-one meeting with President Grant because she wants to figure out how they are going to handle the situation.
From the clip it seems like Olivia might have crossed a line. The President is angry at her for "pulling the fire alarm" in order to get the meeting. In the last clip, Olivia is with her father, Rowan, and curtly tells him that she doesn't need him to "fix" her mess for her.
As a quick refresher, at the end of Season 2 the audience saw Olivia Pope (Kerry Washington) being ambushed by the media after someone leaked her name as President Grant's mistress. Before anyone could wrap their heads around what was going on Olivia was hurried into a waiting car and comes face to face with the leader of B613, Rowan, who she addresses as dad.
The season finale left the audience with hundreds of questions. Why was Rowan after Olivia? What's going to happen to Jake since he saved Oliva? And probably the most important question, who leaked Olivia's name to the press?
Thankfully, fans won't have to wait much longer to find out who the snitch was. Washington told Access Hollywood that the person will be revealed in the first episode.
"You learn that in the very first episode," Washington said hinting that the reveal is going to "floor" the audience.
She also revealed that her relationship with her father as well as her backstory will be revealed in the new season.
"The fact that we've never heard of him (Olivia's father) before and the fact that she's so shocked to see him in the season finale of Season 2, that's a small peek into the unraveling that we get in Season 3," she said.
The new season of "Scandal" starts Thursday, Oct. 3 at 10 p.m. on ABC. Check out the clips below:
