Last night, Jay Leno returned to his old stomping grounds at "The Tonight Show" to teach current host Jimmy Fallon a thing or two about delivering jokes. During the monologue section of the show, Fallon "pulled a hammy" and Leno walked out on stage to finish the topical jokes.
"Of course here at 'The Tonight Show' the monologue has to go on, so I think I am going to have to sub out," Fallon said. "Can someone tag in for me please?"
Leno appeared from behind the camera, high fived Fallon and settled back onto "The Tonight Show" stage.
"After that last debate, Marco Rubio is being called the best communicator in the Republican party," said Leno. "It's kind of like being called the smartest Kardashian," Leno joked.
Some other political figures Leno took shots at were Hillary Clinton, Jeb Bush, Bernie Sanders, Ralph Nader and of course Donald Trump.
Fallon's hurt hamstring eventually healed and the current host joined Leno onstage for a set of tag team "how bad is it" jokes about the economy.
"The economy is so bad in New York on Park Avenue today I saw real breasts and a fake Gucci purse," Leno joked.
"The economy is so bad, 50 Cent just changed his name to Nickelback ," Fallon said.
Leno hosted "The Tonight Show" for 22 years before he stepped down in February 2014 and Fallon took over from him.
