American actor Randy Quaid has once again been arrested in Canada. This is the second time he was arrested in the country this year.
It's not exactly clear why Quaid was arrested, but his wife Evi said her husband was detained Tuesday morning after he attended a regular check-in with the Canadian Boarder Services in Montreal, according to the Hollywood Reporter. The actor has to make regular check-ins based on conditions made following his previous arrest in April. He is set to attend a hearing with the Immigration and Refugee Board Thursday morning, reported TMZ.
Dennis Quaid's older brother was arrested in Texas in September 2009 after he allegedly skipped out on a huge hotel bill, according to Us Weekly. Quaid and Evi then fled the U.S. in 2010, and moved to Canada where they claimed they were targeted in a plot to kill Hollywood stars.
Quaid was arrested in April following an investigation by the Canada Border Services Agency and was released on $10,000 bail.
"At this point, I desire nothing more than to fully co-operate with any restrictions or conditions," Quaid told the court at the time. "As long as I could be with my wife, even if that means going back to the States to reapply for permanent residency status in Canada."
In 2012, Quaid and his wife made a bid for permanent residency in Canada but were denied.
