Conflicting information on whether Microsoft's Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL are exclusive or not to AT&T are circulating on the Internet.
Earlier today, news broke that among all carriers in the U.S., only AT&T expressed interest in selling the new Windows-based phones, as previously reported by HNGN.
John Legere, T-Mobile's CEO, tweeted a response to the news, saying his company did not turn down the new Lumia phones. In fact, the carrier is open to including the phones in its portfolio, if Microsoft would talk and "wake up," according to Softpedia.
Microsoft has been vocal about the fact that its new flagship phones are not exclusive to AT&T. It only appeared as though that was the case because AT&T was the only one to confirm support for the smartphones, reported Windows Central.
"To date in the U.S., we've announced Lumia 950 availability through AT&T, and both Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL availability through Microsoft stores. We encourage customers check with their local carrier or retailer for the latest availability, and beyond that have nothing to share about additional U.S. partner operators," said a Microsoft spokesperson, as reported in another Windows Central article.
Microsoft is also selling unlocked versions of the phones. Customers can buy one and take it to the carrier of their choosing, reported Tech Aeris.
