In an effort to steal iPhone 6S' thunder, Samsung released the Galaxy Note 5 in August, about a month earlier than was customary for this product category. This move has also set the the company's timetable earlier, and the next iteration of its flagship Galaxy S handset is now expected to be unveiled in the very early part of 2016. For these reasons, the rumor mill is now in high gear as to what the all-new Galaxy S7 will bring to the table.
One of the freshest reports says that there will be three variants to the Galaxy S7, according to the Christian Post. The variations, however, appear to be based on the internals and not on looks, as was the case with the S6, with its two handsets offering curved displays in addition to the more conventional flat model. Two variants will be powered by different Exynos chipsets while the third will reportedly run with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820, according to Sam Mobile.
Samsung is also expected to burnish its biometrics technology outfitted in the S7. There is a rumor that the company will be introducing an iris scanner, augmenting the fingerprint sensor for an even more secured device, Latin Post reported.
As for the looks, Samsung will possibly scrap the glass back cover in favor of an aluminum unibody design that could also accommodate expandable storage.
Finally, Samsung might also join Apple as it is poised to potentially unveil its proprietary "force touch" technology. This is supported by reports on the development of a similar solution called ClearForce technology by Synaptics, and Samsung is said to be one of its partners come 2016, Softpedia reports.
