"Law & Oder: SVU" is known for ripping its plots straight from the headlines, and that is exactly what the show is doing for an upcoming episode inspired by the Duggar family, according to People.
The upcoming episode from Season 17 of the courtroom and police drama, "Patrimonial Burden," will feature the SVU team investigating a conservative family consisting of 10 children who try to live a "virtuous" lifestyle. That lifestyle starts to fall apart as "the virtuous 13-year-old daughter of a famous reality TV family discovers she's pregnant."
This ripped from the headlines story comes after the news that eldest Duggar child Josh had an account on the affair website Ashley Madison and after it was revealed that he molested five underage girls when he was a teenager, including some of his younger sisters.
This is not the first time "Law & Order" has taken on a public scandal. The show previously tackled Arnold Schwarzenegger's love child, Paula Deen's racism and the Trayvon Martin case, according to the Huffington Post. Most recently, "SVU" aired a twist on the HBO documentary "The Jinx" in which a character inspired by Robert Durst said some incriminating words while his microphone was still hot, according to E! News.
