Jennifer Lawrence Slams Hollywood ‘Weight Critics’, Recalls Being Told She Was Too Fat to Make it in Tinseltown

Jennifer Lawrence is one of the hottest young actresses in Hollywood right now. The 23-year-old "Hunger Games" star is at the top of her game but recalled a time early in her career when she was told she was too fat and wouldn't make it in Tinseltown.

In the November issue of Harper's Bazaar UK, Lawrence recalled the negative memory which she says she can never forget.

"I was young," she told the magazine, via Just Jared. "It was just the kind of shit that actresses have to go through. Somebody told me I was fat, that I was going to get fired if I didn't lose a certain amount of weight. They brought in pictures of me where I was basically naked, and told me to use them as motivation for my diet."

She told the magazine that someone had recently brought it up to her wondering if the harsh comment still affects her now. Even though the actress revealed that she is still hurt by the comment she has is able to give the weight critics the middle-finger and continue on with her career.

"They thought that because of the way my career had gone, it wouldn't still hurt me. That somehow, after I won an Oscar, I'm above it all," she said. "I was a little girl. I was hurt. It doesn't matter what accolades you get. I know it'll never happen to me again. If somebody even tries to whisper the word 'diet', I'm like, 'You can go f*k yourself.'"

That wasn't the first time Lawrence has been pressured to slim down. Last year, she told Elle magazine that she is considered 'the fat actress' of Hollywood.

"In Hollywood, I'm obese," she said. "I'm considered a fat actress. I'm Val Kilmer in that one picture on the beach."

Regardless of how people view Lawrence's body the actress hasn't let the critics slow her down and told Harper's Bazaar that before sets while filming people will often find her eating a bag of chips.
