Florida Gators freshman defensive back Deiondre Porter has been charged with aggravated battery, firing a "deadly missile" into a vehicle or dwelling, two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill, and criminal mischief for property damage, according Andy Hutchins of Alligator Army.
Porter has been suspended from the team program indefinitely, according to the Gators Football twitter account.
Porter was reportedly booked at 11:19 a.m. on Wednesday, and his name appears in the Alachua County jail records. The Gainesville Police Department released the arrest report from Porter's incident on Wednesday afternoon.
The police report states that "The defendant began yelling at the victim in her apartment demanding that she tell him the truth about being with his teammate." This is why the confrontation reportedly started, and the defendant reportedly put a gun to the victims head asking her to tell the truth.
The victim and the defendant reportedly went to sleep after not being able to reach the teammate accused of having a relationship with the victim.
"Later that same day, the defendant began yelling at the victim again about her being involved with his teammate," according to the report. Porter reportedly fired the handgun at her direction, and left shortly afterwards.
Both the victim and Porter have been in a relationship since 2013, and the victim is ten weeks pregnant, which Porter already knew. He will likely be dismissed from the university, and it's hard to think of any Division I college program that would take a chance on him after these decisions.
Florida University has had a tough week in the spotlight, as starting quarterback Will Grier reportedly tested positive for PEDs earlier this week.
