Lamar Odom's father Joe just arrived at the Sunrise Hospital & Medical Center in Las Vegas, reported E! News. Lamar, a former NBA star, is in critical condition and remains in a coma after he was found unconscious at Dennis Hof's Love Ranch, a Nevada brothel. He was taken to the nearby hospital where reports claim cocaine and opiates were found in his system and doctors are treating his condition as a drug overdose.
Joe was seen entering the hospital today, according to photographs obtained by E! News. He joins Khloé Kardashian — who is still legally Lamar's wife — at Lamar's bedside.
Kardashian married Lamar in 2009, and they both signed and filed divorce papers in July of this year. They remain legally married since a judgment has yet to be entered in court, according to People.
Due to a backlog of divorce filings in family court, Kardashian and Lamar's divorce could take up to two months to be finalized, TMZ reported. Because they are still legally married, she holds the power to make medical decisions for her husband and has reportedly already made several.
The former couple's wedding and relationship was depicted on two hit E! reality series, and the network released a statement confirming cameras will not be filming during this tragic time.
"'Keeping Up with the Kardashians' is not currently shooting in Las Vegas,'" E! said in a statement obtained by The Wrap. "Lamar Odom appeared on several seasons of 'Keeping Up with the Kardashians,' as well as two seasons of his own series 'Khloé & Lamar.' We are saddened to hear of his condition, and are sending out thoughts and prayers for his recovery."
"She's strong, she's hopeful, she's loving and caring," said Jesse Jackson during an impromptu press conference at the hospital, as reported by E! News. "She is so serious. And when he does wake up, he'll see her and that's a source of joy and consolation."
