LoL Worlds 2015: Can Origen Win Against SKT T1 During Semifinals?

League of Legends World Championships 2015 will stop over at Brussels, Belgium Oct. 24-25 for the start of semifinals after finishing the group stages in Paris and the quarterfinals in SSA Wembley Arena in London.

The Worlds has come down to a battle between Europe and Korea, each represented by two teams - Origen and Fnatic for Europe, and SK Telecom T1 and KOO Tigers for Korea.

Saturday will see Origen take on SK Telecom T1 at 3:30 p.m. in a match up that many people would have expected to feature SKT T1 against a Chinese team or Fnatic. However, Origen surprised everyone in the quarterfinals with their superior team plays, earning them a slot at the semis, Esports Bet reported.

In the match between Origen and SKT T1, most people would immediately predict that SKT T1 will surely win over OG, seeing that SKT T1 has managed to reach the semifinals without any defeats yet.

"I do think that Origen can take a game off SKT, but I think they make too many mistakes that SKT can punish," predicts shout caster Trevor "Quickshot" Henry, according to Red Bull.

While the odds seem to be in favor of SKT T1, with statistics showing that three of their members have the highest KDA (Kills, Death, Assists) from all remaining teams, there is a chance for OG to emerge victorious, and that is if they are able to minimize their mistakes and play as a team.

Origen currently has a higher overall percentage when it comes to team kill participation, with Origen's Niel at 84 percent and Mithy at 74 percent. This is remarkably high compared to SKT's Easyhoon and Wolf, with only 74 percent and 72 percent team kill participation, respectively. This means that Origen members have a higher team presence during clashes. If they overwhelm SKT with map vision and successful team fights, they might just have the chance to overthrow SKT's aggressive and individualistic play style and earn a slot at the finals.

But then again, one major mistake and SKT will immediately go for the Nexus, so Origen has to avoid that. OG's midlaner, xPeke, should hold his lane safely against Faker, as statistics show that since Worlds 2015 started, xPeke has had 24 deaths compared to Faker's death count of 10. If Faker is able to feed on xPeke, winning might just become more difficult than it already is for Origen.
