After a couple of long years of waiting for new music, Adele is finally back with a new song called "Hello," and is releasing her first studio album since 2011 on Nov. 20. The 27-year-old singer recently discussed her new song and her highly-anticipated new album, "25."
On Friday, Adele released "Hello," as well as the music video for the beautifully powerful tune. The British singer called the song a "massive breakthrough" in writing her new album, which took about three years to make.
"Straight away, I felt a little bit silly singing 'Hello, it's me,' but straight away I loved the verse and I knew it was going to be the first thing I came back with me," she told SiriusXM Radio of the song. "It happened quickly when I was writing it, so I felt that was a good sign, but also it's incredibly conversational. I didn't want to come back with some spectacular point. I didn't have any points to prove."
The Grammy Award-winning artist also revealed that the upcoming album "25" might be the last one named after the age she was when she wrote the album. Her previous records were called "19" and "21."
"I'm sure I'm wrong with this, but I feel like there's been a massive change in me in the last couple of years. Having become a parent, and me and all my friends suddenly living grown-up lives and having responsibilities we haven't had before," she told Beats 1 host Zane Lowe.
"I feel like the idea of naming albums after my age is always to show a photograph of what's going on in my life [at that time]. I feel like not that much is going to change profoundly in me from now on, in terms of how important years of my life are to myself," she added.
