The Texas A&M Aggies travel to Vaught-Hemingway Stadium to face the Ole Miss Rebels in a big SEC matchup. The Aggies will be looking to bounce back after taking their first loss of the season against Alabama. The Rebels are also looking to bounce back after losing to out-of-conference opponent Memphis last Saturday.
Ole Miss has beaten the only team to defeat the Aggies this season, and that is what makes this matchup so interesting. The Rebels are led by quarterback Chad Kelly who has thrown the ball all over the field this season. The junior transfer quarterback has thrown for 2,234 yards and 16 touchdowns this season. Kelly is a huge playmaker for the Rebels offense, as he does it both in the air and on the ground. Kelly has rushed for 118 yards this season and has scored four rushing touchdowns.
Kelly will look to target star receiver Laquon Treadwell, who is having a huge season. Treadwell is expected to play football on Sundays next year and is a huge weapon for the Rebels offense. The junior wide receiver has 49 receptions for 654 yards and has scored four touchdowns. While Treadwell may not have top-end speed to burn past corners, he is great at catching balls in coverage and can make tough catches look easy.
Kelly will need to find Treadwell quickly, as the Aggies have one of the best pass rushers in football with Myles Garrett. Some think Garrett is the best prospect in college football, and his stats back up the argument. The junior defensive lineman already has 8.5 sacks this season and 11.5 tackles for loss. At 6-foot-5, 260 pounds, Garrett creates havoc for opposing quarterbacks and will look to get after Kelly all Saturday night.
Texas A&M will look to quarterback Kyle Allen to bounce back after his worst game of the season. The sophomore quarterback was quietly entering the Heisman conversation prior to last week's Alabama game and will look to rebound after throwing a season-high three interceptions against the Crimson Tide. Allen had only thrown two interceptions prior to last week's game and outside of that is having a remarkable season. Allen has thrown for 1,537 yards this season with 14 touchdowns but has also scored two rushing touchdowns.
Both Texas A&M head coach Kevin Sumlin and Ole Miss head coach Hugh Freeze will be looking for their teams to rebound after losses last week. The game starts at 7 p.m. EDT, and you can watch the live broadcast here. To listen to the Aggies' radio broadcast, click here, and for the Rebels' radio broadcast, go here.
