The Oakland Athletics can close out their AL division series against the Detroit Tigers with a win on Tuesday. The game starts at 5:07 p.m. ET. Listen to the live radio broadcast HERE.
After dropping Game 1, Oakland bounced back with two straight wins over Detroit. The team enjoyed its best game of the series on Monday behind the bats of Brandon Moss, Josh Reddick and Seth Smith, who each homered against Tigers pitcher Anibal Sanchez.
"We're going to strike out and we're going to hit the long ball, so once we get those going, it's going to be a good day," Reddick told the Athletics' website, via the Associated Press. "And to do it against a guy like Sanchez, who's been great all year, it does a lot for your confidence coming into (Tuesday)."
Oakland is now one win away from advancing to the AL championship series for the first time in seven years, according to the Associated Press. Still, the Athletics aren't looking ahead just yet.
"We look at it as we have one win to one. If we get to five, we get to Game 5," said Moss. "This is not a team you want to give any momentum to. They're too good."
Dan Straily (10-8, 3.96 ERA) will take the mound on Tuesday for Oakland. In his final six starts, Straily went 4-1 with a 2.00 ERA.
For Detroit, Doug Fister is charged with giving the team a chance at forcing a fifth game. Fister (14-9, 3.67) gave up seven runs and 13 hits in five innings to the Athletics in a 14-4 loss on Aug. 28.
