New England Patriots RUMORS: Dion Lewis Will Play Against Miami Dolphins

New England Patriots running back Dion Lewis will play Thursday against the Miami Dolphins, according to NFL reporter Ian Rapoport.

Lewis has been listed as questionable with an abdomen injury, and head coach Bill Belichick was not ready to reveal Wednesday if he would be available. "We'll see tomorrow," said Belichick about Lewis' status, via NFL. "We really didn't practice this week. My mom could've gotten through practice."

Lewis is looking to be one of the best offseason bargains this year and is a big factor in New England's undefeated start. He signed a two-year contract extension earlier this month, as the Patriots know they have talented back.

In five games played this season, Lewis has 201 rushing yards and two touchdowns. The Patriots struggled against the New York Jets without Lewis, as the team only rushed for 16 yards. Tom Brady was the Patriots leading rusher last week, and with Lewis back on the field, that is unlikely to happen again.

The Patriots are clearly the favorites in their division, but the Dolphins have looked much improved under interim head coach Dan Campbell. Miami has recorded 10 sacks in the past two games, and look for Belichick to get the ball out of Brady's hands quickly. Quick handoffs to Lewis or short passes will likely come Lewis' way Thursday night, but it remains to be seen if his injury will affect his play.
