Taylor Swift: '22' Singer Said WHAT About Bestie Ed Sheeran? Why She Thinks It's 'Creepy' To Have Guy Friends

Taylor Swift may be a country music's sweetheart with a sharp tongue that comes out in her song lyrics, but she's learned a lot from her past relationships, including when you should walk away.

Swift has been linked to a slew of guys: John Mayor, One Direction's Harry Styles, Connor Kennedy and Joe Jonas to name a few. Not to say she's seriously dated all, but fans love to connect the dots when it comes to her music, guessing whom her new song might be about.

Though the country cutie composes herself well even amongst all the dating rumors, she shared how he love life shapes her, but doesn't necessarily define her to In Style magazine. Check out the snippets of her interview below.

How the single life has been treating Swift:

"I haven't been [in a relationship] in a long time. I'd like to think if you're with the right person, you just feel great about things you've never felt great about before. At least that's how I've heard it's supposed to be. I wouldn't know."

How she her approach and views on dating men has changed:

"I think it needs to be changed. My friends tease me about the fact that if someone seems bad or shady or like they have a secret, I find them incredibly interesting. That's just a phase I've been in lately. I don't think this should be how i proceed in life. It's important to be self-aware about these things because you don't want to end up with that guy."

Why she'll never be allowed to have "guy" friends:

"Ed and I are such good friends. I have never had such a close guy friend before. It's always kind of creepy because with a guy friend-girl friend situation, it usually feels like one person always wants more. That's not the case here. If [a guy] wants to be friends with me, just know people are going to say we're dating."

What she's learned from her past mistakes:

"Sometimes you know after two dates that you're not the right fit. And sometimes you know you're not the right fit, and you fall for it anyway. One thing I've learned that I'm proud of - drum roll, please - is when to walk away. I've had some short relationships because I know when to do that."
