Peggy Carter will have no time to enjoy sunny California when she lands in Hollywood for her next assignment this season on "Agent Carter." The list of villains for Agent Carter and the SSR to track down continues to grow and now includes mob boss Joseph Manfredi, played by Ken Marino.
"Marvel's Agent Carter" has cast Marino as the volatile leader in the Maggia crime syndicate who will help Peggy Carter's (Hayley Atwell) adversaries further their agenda, according to Marvel.com.
"We've loved working with Ken ever since he played a gay ex-demon for us on 'Reaper,' and we were so happy he was available for this role," said executive producers Tara Butters, Chris Dingess and Michele Fazekas. "His range is incredible - he can go from comedy to romance to drama with ease. Writing for him is easy, because he can do pretty much anything. And he sued to have a karaoke room in his house, which make him even more awesome."
Marino's recent credits include Netflix's "Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp" and Adult Swim's "Childrens Hospital" as well as the upcoming HBO drama, "Vinyl."
"At Marvel, even our villains need a certain degree of charm as they make life difficult for our heroes," said Jeph Loeb, executive producer and Head of Marvel TV. "Ken brings a quality to Joseph Manfredi that only serves to make him even more menacing, adding another layer of depth to our already outstanding supporting cast."
Marino joins an expanding cast for season two including Wynn Everett (Whitney Frost a.k.a. Madame Masque), Currie Graham (Calvin Chadwick), Reggie Austin (Jason Wilkes), Lotte Verbeek (Ana Jarvis) and Kurtwood Smith as Vernon Masters, a veteran of the War Department.
"Agent Carter" season two will premiere in early 2016 on ABC.
