Employees of a company based in Montpelier, Vt. have launched an underwear line that features a black-and-white portrait of Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders emblazoned with his campaign slogan "Feel the Bern."
"Bernie's Briefs" is the creation of Alexandra MacLean, Nick Sherman and Todd Bailey. The three work at KSE Partners, a strategic communications and government affairs firm.
MacLean explained why they made the underwear line. "It's just an opportunity to bring something fun into what is otherwise a very serious matter," MacLean said, according to NECN.
The underwear comes in both men's and women's styles, and each of them costs $15 including shipping and handling.
"This campaign is exciting, and they want to show support for him and his issues. I think it's just a little bit of fun, and they appreciate that," MacLean said, according to the New York Daily News.
Sanders, during recent appearances on various late night TV and talk shows, confessed that he prefers wearing briefs than boxers.
The founders of the underwear line went on to praise Sanders and his passion for serious issues, with one founder saying the political process has profited his campaign. Ten percent of the underwear line's proceeds will go straight to the Yellow Ribbon Fund, which helps wounded service members, under Sanders' name, according to the Associated Press.
