British rock band Coldplay has announced the release of "A Head Full of Dreams," the upcoming new album follow-up to the band's 2014 LP "Ghost Stories," Rolling Stone reported. The band gave fans a taste by releasing the first single, the disco-infused dance track "Adventure of a Lifetime."
After teasing an announcement on social media Thursday, the track was released via the band's official Twitter account. A statement posted to Coldplay's official website describes the sound that the band has taken on with its upcoming release.
"Revitalised, they've made an album that's bursting with energy, colour and big, life-affirming moments such as the deliciously ebullient first single 'Adventure Of A Lifetime' and the rocket-powered 'Hymn For The Weekend,'" the statement read.
The album was produced by Stargate, the Norwegian songwriting team behind Iggy Azalea's 2014 hit "Black Widow" and Fifth Harmony's 2015 hit "Worth It," and it features guest appearances by Beyoncé, Noel Gallagher, and Tove Lo. "A Head Full of Dreams" is scheduled for a Dec. 4 release.
"An Adventure of a Lifetime" features a retro disco vibe as front man Chris Martin sings ""I feel my heart beating/ Oh, you make me feel like I'm alive again" over a groovy dance beat.
