Louisiana Cops Arrested For Death Of 6-Year-Old Autistic Boy

Two Louisiana police officers are held in prison in line with the ongoing investigation of the death of a 6-year-old autistic boy and sever injuries for his father.

The child, Jeremy Mardis, was in a car with his father, Chris Few, when suspects allegedly rained gunfire on them. The boy was proclaimed dead on the scene while his father remains in critical condition at a hospital.

Derrick Stafford, 32, of Mansura, and Norris Greenhouse Jr., 23, of Marksville, each faced charges of second-degree murder and are being held in the Avoyelles Parish jail, according to the Associated Press.

"It is the most disturbing thing I've seen, and I will leave it at that. That little boy was buckled in the front seat of that vehicle and that is how he died. He didn't deserve to die like that," said Col. Mike Edmonson, according to Fox News.

All pieces of evidence are being reviewed, including 911 calls, body camera footage and forensics.

Two other marshals may also have been involved in the incident, and police have seized all four guns from those involved, which are being analyzed at a lab in Baton Rouge, according to Edmonson, NBC News reported.

An alleged motive for the shooting has not been made public.
