The official character posters for "Alice Through the Looking Glass" have been released, and they're just as magical as the trailer.
The posters were shared on the movie's official Facebook page, and all our favorite characters, including Alice (Mia Wasikowska), The Red Queen (Helena Bonham Carter), the White Queen (Anne Hathaway) and the Mad Hatter (Johnny Depp) are back in their crazy "Alice in Wonderland" attire. The newest addition to the franchise, Time, played by Sacha Baron Cohen, also has his very own poster. "It's time for a little madness," each of the posters read.
In each of the posters, the characters are holding the gold chromosphere, which is a device used for time travel in the movie. "[It's] something everyone wants, Alice needs it, but the Red Queen wants most of all," Producer Suzanne Todd told Entertainment Weekly of the chromosphere.
"Through the Looking Glass" is the sequel to Disney's 2010 live-action movie "Alice in Wonderland," as HNGN previously reported. All of the main characters are returning, along with Cohen and Rhys Ifans as Zanik Hightopp, aka father of the Madd Hatter, as new characters. Alan Rickman, Michael Sheen and Stephen Fry will also be returning as the voices of Blue Caterpillar, White Rabbit and Cheshire Cat. The one major change in the sequel is that it will be directed by James Robin instead of Tim Burton, but Burton will be the executive producer for the current project.
"Alice Through the Looking Glass" hits theaters May 27, 2016.
