Beer And Dogs: Awesome Dog-Inspired Beers To Warm You Up This Fall

Beer has long been one of the best brews to warm the body in the chilly air of Fall. (OK, so that isn't science.) With Oktoberfest done and gone, let us look at some unique beers and the awesome beer companies behind them. What makes these companies awesome? Quite simply because their drinks are dog-themed!

Here then are a number of great breweries to warm you up this fall, courtesy of Pets Weekly.

Sea Dog Brewing

Located in Maine, this brewery features a Great Pyrenees, Barney, in its logo. It is said that the dog was the brewery's apprentice brewmaster and figurehead until he retired. These days, it is customary for patrons to raise a pint in honor of Barney's memory.

Laughing Dog Brewery

This unique brewery in Sandpoint, Idaho, states that its brews are personally approved (by barks and woofs) by the company's figurehead, a yellow lab named Ben. In fact, the entire Laughing Dog team is inspired by the lab's loyalty, with his son, Ruger, currently in training to fill in his father's shoes.

Big Dog Bar and Grill

Located in Vegas, the giant dog house-shaped brewery is sure to bring a smile to any dog lover's face. With doggy decors and beer names such as LegLifter Light, TailWagger Wheat, Red Hydrant, and of course, the Black Lab Stout, this brewery is surely something to check out.

Black Dog Ale

Created by Spanish Peaks Brewing Co. in Denver, Colo. and Polson, Mont., the company features the image of its founder's black lab, Chug, in its logo. That's not all, however, as the company also founded the "Help Chug Help His Friends" program, a partnership with the area's Humane Society, in which a portion of the brewery's sales are always donated to animal shelters in the area.

Of course, brews from the companies mentioned above are best served in the companionship of your dog. If you live anywhere near the Vero Beach Dog Park in Florida, you can definitely take a trip there with your loyal pooch, according to TC Palm. In fact, this coming Sunday, the park will sponsor its first Bow Wow Bark N Brew - a day of fun for you and your pet.

So what are you waiting for? Grab a doggie-inspired beer and have an awesome day this Fall!
