Autism Shooting: Officer Involved In Shooting Of 6-Year-Old Could Be Released From Jail

Tragedy struck the small Louisiana town of Marksville, when two police officers shot a father and his autistic son following a high-speed chase. The father, Chris Few, is in critical condition. His son, 6-year-old Jeremy Mardis, died at the scene. The suspects, Derrick Stafford and Norris Greenhouse Jr., are charged with second-degree murder, as HNGN reported earlier this week.

As new details emerge, the case becomes more problematic.

Both Stafford and Greenhouse are held on $1 million bond. Sources have reported that Greenhouse is attempting to post bond, and could be released as early as Thursday. Both men were ordered to turn in their firearms and police certifications. Investigators are trying to learn whether the two suspects knew Few beforehand, according to Wave 3 News.

A source privy to the investigation claims that Greenhouse knew Few before the shooting.

"We believe that they had some type of relationship where they met each other, knew each other," stated Police Superintendent Col. Michael Edmonson, pointing out that the town of 5,500 seems like a place where "everyone knows each other." It has also been revealed that Greenhouse is the son of an assistant district attorney, according to CNN.

Few's fiancee, Megan Dixon, claims that Greenhouse messaged her multiple times on Facebook, and even stopped by their home, prompting Few to threaten Greenhouse, according to KATC.
