Blackberry has been getting a lot of bad press recently. There is a claim, for example, that the Blackberry Priv - its latest smartphone - could be the company's last, the final phone in the coffin, reported BBC News.
But Blackberry refuses to be entirely written off and is bravely soldiering on. As a matter of fact, it is rumored to be manufacturing a new phone, even before the Priv begins shipping this November.
A batch of photographs leaked a new handset, which is currently codenamed Vienna. It is the first real look at the new device's design, according to Crackberry. The images confirmed rumors that have been floating around for several weeks about a second Blackberry Android device.
The renders show detailed design and hardware features such four color variants and a fixed keyboard, which Blackberry is best known for. It also appears that the keyboard has the same size as that of Priv's. The leaked photos did not include information about its internals or other hardware details like the material used for the body or its display specifications. These information are important because they could have indicated its possible price range.
If the Vienna device is indeed being produced, then Android might just prove to be Blackberry's savior. The demand for Priv, which is the company's first Android handset, is reportedly so high that shipping date was pushed back as late as Nov. 30, according to Tech Times.
