Dubai-based luxury carrier Emirates has unveiled a new configuration for the airline's A380 fleet, featuring a record number of 615 seats. The new configuration completely removes the first class and has a fewer number of business class seats, enabling the aircraft to hold an additional 130 economy seats, according to Metro.
With the number of seats in the plane, Emirates can fit almost 56 football teams, or even the entire population of a small village, inside the aircraft.
Despite the configuration being dubbed the "cattle class," Emirates states that passengers should not fear losing legroom, as the 557 seats in economy and 58 seats in business class would still have the same amount of legroom as that of the company's three-class airplanes.
Apart from this, passengers in the economy class will still be able to enjoy one of the world's best economy cabins, which was ranked seventh in this year's Skytrax World Airline Awards, reported the Daily Mail.
Emirates' in-flight entertainment system in the economy class has also been named the world's best for a record 11 consecutive years, featuring more than 500 films and large high-resolution screens that can broadcast views from the plane's cockpit or the ground below.
The maiden voyage of Emirates' cattle class is scheduled for Dec. 1, with a one-way ticket from Dubai to Copenhagen costing $533 for the seven-hour flight.
