Ellie Goulding told Shape in the December issue of the magazine that she's a workout fanatic but she doesn't do it to slim down, but to gain muscle.
"If getting stronger means getting more toned and slimmer, so be it, as long as strength comes with it," the 28-year-old singer said, according to Shape, which features Goulding showing off her insane six-pack abs in a photo shoot. "I'm happy with my figure. I never intended or tried to be skinny. It's just not my thing."
Goulding, who recently released her third album, "Delirium," revealed her workout regime. "When I'm not on the road, my trainer comes to my house a few times a week and we go for a run outdoors and then do weight training," she explained.
The "Love Me Like You Do" singer said she likes to go to Barry's Bootcamp because she gets to "spend half the session running and half doing weight and floor work."
"It's really good for endurance, and it keeps me superfocused," she said about the workout studio, according to People.
The English singer, who partnered with Nike to create a HIIT workout for its training app, says she enjoys the high-intensity routine and is perfect for building strength.
"[HIIT is] by far the hardest thing I've ever done. I come out of there feeling like something big just happened to my body, and I'm completely drained. Of all the workouts I've tried, this one has been the best for me," Goulding said.
Goulding performed at the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show taping on Wednesday, alongside Selena Gomez and The Weeknd, stepping in as a replacement for Rihanna, who had to cancel her performance to focus on her upcoming album, as HNGN previously reported.
