Candie is an adult, Borzoi mix - a Mutt-i-gree, as North Shore Animal League America calls its proud pound puppies. "She is a regal, dainty, gentle giant who loves attention from her two legged friends," according to an email from Allison Andersen, communications coordinator, at NSALA. "Candie loves to give kisses and because she is very socialized, (and) she is comfortable meeting new people."

If you'd like more information on Candie or are ready to meet her, CLICK HERE for her adoption page on NSALA's website. Candie's adoption number is T63559.

Borzoi, or Russian wolfhounds, are similar to a greyhound, according to Dog Breed Information Center, and also similar to a cat, in that they keep themselves very clean. The Borzoi is a quiet dog, so no worries about bothering your neighbors with constant barking. The Information Center described the Borzoi as "sweet, intelligent," "proud...extremely loyal," "quite affectionate with people it knows well" and "free-thinking."
