Once Upon a Time in Wonderland Spoilers: Why is the White Rabbit a Snitch?; John Lithgow Discusses His Furry and Punctual Character

As the first season of “Once Upon a Time in Wonderland” continues, we’ll grow to know all the strange characters in the strange storybook world.

One of those characters is the White Rabbit, voiced by John Lithgow. I don’t know about you but the first time I met the rabbit I liked him. He was funny, always on time and created portals—the total package. That fondness for the little rabbit sort of disappeared after i realized he was informing on Alice (Sophie Lowe) to the Red Queen.

However, some recent comments by Lithagow may slightly change my mind. The key word being slightly.

"The White Rabbit is devious and not to be trusted, but the things that motivate him I think are understandable," Lithgow explained to EOnline.

"I think that people ultimately will really like this character," he added.

The White Rabbit isn’t the only character with secret motives.

One of the show’s co-creators, Adam Horowitz, said the Wonderland villain Jafar isn’t a bad guy just because it’s fun.

"His actions come out of a deep pain that we plan to reveal,” he said in a recent interview with TVGuide.com. “And to soothe that pain he's going to have to change the laws of magic, [which] will affect everyone in Wonderland."

So why is the Rabbit a snitch and a traitor? What does Jafar want with Cyrus?

In tonight’s episode, we’ll get a look into how Alice and Cyrus fell in love. You can see some photos from the episode at ABC.com.

“Once Upon a Time Wonderland” airs Thursdays at 8/7c on ABC.
