Warning: The following contains possible spoilers for AMC's "The Walking Dead."
For fans of AMC's "The Walking Dead," the past few weeks have been incredibly frustrating. Back in Episode 3, "Thank You," Steven Yeun's fan-favorite Glenn was seemingly torn apart by a horde of Walkers, though fans didn't truly buy his death. Instead of clearing up this monumental cliffhanger, showrunner Scott M. Gimple has stayed as far away from a resolution as possible in recent episodes.
However, it sounds as if viewers might finally get an answer in this week's edition, "Heads Up."
Glenn is alive and well, according to The Spoiling Dead Fans. So how did he do it?
"The old hide under the dumpster trick. Cheap. (Glenn basically waits it out until the walkers leave. Enid spots Glenn first from a roof and throws him some water after he gets out)."
To be honest, this is a disappointing turn of events. No one ever wanted Glenn to die, as he has become something of the moral compass for the group (kind of like Herschel was). But this fake-out death completely undermines the dramatic tension and high stakes the show tries so desperately to establish every week. It also doesn't make much sense from a logical standpoint. Walkers can smell and hear the Alexandrians behind a 25-foot wall, but they don't know Glenn is hiding under a dumpster right in front of them? It all seems kind of...ridiculous.
But it is interesting that Enid is the one who discovers him. Much has been made about Enid's odd behavior throughout the last two seasons. Many have come to the conclusion that she is actually a spy for the Wolves. If so, will she actually help Glenn return to Alexandria, or will she turn him over to the Wolves?
We'll have to wait to find out.
"The Walking Dead" airs Sundays at 9 p.m. ET on AMC.
