News broke on Friday that Kylie Jenner and her boyfriend Tyga had broken up after she was absent from his 26th birthday party, but neither Jenner or the rapper had confirmed that they had split, which made some hopeful that everything between the two was actually okay.
Multiple sources had said that the two were no longer together after a little over a year of dating, and one source even told People that Tyga had broken the 18-year-old reality star's trust. "She caught him lying and talking to other girls behind her back, and this was the last straw," the source added. "[She] feels super betrayed and is just so pissed off, damaged and hurt about it. She plans to erase him from her memory and act like he never even existed in the first place."
While this seemed like a good enough reason for Jenner to end things, everyone was still waiting on either Jenner or Tyga to address the rumors themselves. As two celebrities who are very active on social media, it was only a matter of time before they gave us some sort of hint that things were over, but turns out, the two very much still together.
"Everyone needs to chill," Jenner captioned a Snapchat of her and Tyga lying in bed together.
Another source had told E! News that the two were just on a break, so this could be why she wasn't at his party Thursday night. "They are on a break. They were just a week or so ago talking about 'ever after' and things got messy this past week," the source said. "Kylie wants time to just be by herself and do her. Tyga is not giving up as that's his one and only lady."
Jenner told Elle Canada earlier this month that she likes to keep certain things about her relationship private, which is probably why she chose to shut down the rumors in such a simple way.
"I do think that if you let people in too deep, it gets hard," she told the magazine. "Your fans get too invested, and then they know when you break up and make up. I don't want people to know every time we fight or break up, so I'd rather keep some things private."
