Dallas Cowboys defensive end Greg Hardy's support in Dallas is reportedly waning after missing several meetings, including last week's Saturday night pregame meeting before their loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, according to NFL reporter Ian Rapoport.
Everyone reportedly close to Hardy, including teammates coaches and his agent, have advised the Cowboys defensive end to shape up, according to Rapoport. The question will be if anything changes regarding Hardy's actions off the field.
Hardy was suspended for the first four games of the season, but he has clearly made an impact on the field with four sacks and 11 tackles prior to Dallas' game against the Miami Dolphins this weekend.
Head coach Jason Garrett reportedly set an example with Corey White and Christine Michael, who did not wear suits on the team's road trip and were both cut, according to Rapoport. It is not beyond Garrett to make an example of Hardy and his careless regard for team meetings, but Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has been adamant in his support for Hardy.
Hardy is clearly a productive player on the field, but Garrett and other players are likely wondering if his off-field decisions are negatively affecting the team. It will be interesting to see what the Cowboys do with Hardy down the stretch of this season, and afterwards, as he only signed a one-year contract with the team prior to this season.
