Pakistan, which holds second rank in the International Cricket Council (ICC) T20 rankings, is set to play two consecutive T20 matches against eighth-ranked England on Nov. 26 and Nov. 27. Pakistan is hoping to win the series by 2-1 in order to hold their current position.
"We want to settle down before the World Twenty20. Besides that we are ranked number two so it's an important series for us in many ways and we will do our best to win it," skipper Shahid Afridi said Wednesday, according to AFP.
Afridi also said he was impressed with young English wicket-keeper batsman Jos Buttler, who recently smashed England's fastest ever century.
"He is one of the best cricketers (in the world) at the moment. He played well against me in the (NatWest T20 Blast) final, and he is a great player. (But) we will bowl well at him," he said, according to sports 360.
The tourists, who handed over a humiliating 3-1 defeat to Pakistan in the One Day International (ODI) series, are confident of clinching the series.
'We want to make sure we win 3-0. We played some really good cricket throughout the one-dayers and we've got most of that squad for the Twenty20 so hopefully we can carry that form forward and put some really strong performances in," England's middle order batsman Joe Root said after ODI series victory, according to Daily Mail.
"All that being said, all the experience we can gain over this series will stand us in good stead for the World Cup around the corner," he added.
