What's the annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade without some controversy? While stunning as usual in a red form-fitting dress, white jacket and gloves, Mariah Carey sang her famous holiday anthem "All I Want Is Christmas Is You," for the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade on Thursday.
However, what seemed like a flawless performance from the 45-year-old diva apparently caused quite the uproar on social media, with fans accusing Carey of lip-syncing during her performance.
"U slayed at #MacysParade @MariahCarey Queen of lip syncing," one fan wrote, while another added, "Yo Mariah Carey is doing a horrid job at lip syncing at the parade SOS 4 her." Twitter user @chelseanachman wrote, "No one is more thankful for anything today than Mariah Carey is for lip syncing."
"Thank goodness Mariah Carey got to lip sync today because we all know that voice isn't what it used to be," another added.
Coming to her defense is former "American Idol" contestant Chris Daughtry. After being accused of lip-syncing his hit song "Long Live Rock and Roll" in front of millions of spectators and millions more watching on television, Daughtry wrote on Twitter, "And so did EVERYBODY ELSE!"
Other performance who participated at this year's parade included Jordin Sparks, Eva Longoria, Trey Songz and Jennifer Nettles Rachel.
