St. Louis Rams owner Stan Kroenke has planned to move his franchise to Los Angeles, but if he doesn't get the necessary votes to make the move, the Rams reportedly could potentially move to London or Denver, according to Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports.
The Rams, San Diego Chargers, and Oakland Raiders are all expected to apply for relocation this upcoming January, and a decision reportedly could come as late as March. Kroenke faces a ton of hurdles in moving his franchise to Inglewood, and the Federal Aviation Administration has already released a report stating that the new stadium is hazardous to air navigation.
Kroenke currently owns a top-tier London-based soccer club in Arsenal, and he owns two teams in Colorado in the Denver Nuggets and the Colorado Avalanche. Kroenke reportedly has no fall-back plans outside of Los Angeles, and while the league reportedly views London and Colorado as possible options, Kroenke is set on Inglewood.
Kroenke spends a majority of his time at his Malibu house, and the Rams owner knows that the market in L.A. is unparalleled. There have been reports that Kroenke could try to purchase the Denver Broncos and sell the Rams to an investor who would want to keep the team in St. Louis, but that seems like a very complicated process that would require the Broncos to be willing to sell, according to La Canfora. At this point, Kroenke is determined to move his team to L.A., but it is out of his control, as he will have to wait for the NFL owners' vote to make the decision.
